Lots of New Stuff!

I haven't posted pictures on here in a while. That doesn't mean I haven't been very busy! I took a little break from All Things Beautiful for two big reasons. #1 I moved into my new house and it needed a lot of work, so my efforts were focused there. #2 It gets dang hot in Mississippi in the summer and my garage is
like a stinkin' hot box! So, after it cooled off some and I got all my projects in my house done I was ready for those creative juices to flow again. Below you will find all the projects I have been working on over the last couple of months. I did several projects for friends (my favorite kind of project) and those are shown below too! Hope you enjoy!

Before and After of a cabinet door, repurposed into a message center. Chalkboard on top, cork on the bottom and beadboard key hooks in the middle.

16x20 Chalkboard. $25.

Before and After of a flea market find. Not sure what it was before but now it is a tall, narrow chalkboard. $25.

Before and after of my favorite window I have done. The window was originally in pretty bad shape. I cleaned it up, replaced some of the glass, and painted it. The pictures are 5x7s. It was a gift for a friend!

4x6 Frames - $15 each.

5x7 Rustic Plank Frames - $30 each.

8x10 Rustic Plank Frames. $35 each.

8x10 Rustic Plank Frame - $40.

Before and after of a door I refinished.

These are the before and after of a jewelry box I refinished for a friend of mine.

Before and After of a window I repurposed for a friend!

Before and After of a piece of trim from an old building. It now holds 5 - 4x6 pictures! $35

First Big "Show"

I am excited because "All Things Beautiful" is traveling to Brandon Elementary! My principal has agreed to let me bring my things to school and sell! I am taking about 20 items with me and I am excited to see what kind of interest there is! Here are the last few things that I have recently finished up! As always, let me know if you are interested in any of it?

This is a header from a building in Memphis (or so I was told). It has four antique doorknobs and could be used as a great coat rack! $45

This framed chalkboard would make a great message center. I love this one....I think it's so cute! :) And it's only $15!

This is a large shutter with a chalkboard. It has two coat hooks and four key hooks! It is $75

This is a door from the house my grandmother grew up in. I am really excited about this project. I have refinished it and plan on using it as a headboard in my new house!

Latest Creations...

I will have to say that my career is getting in the way of this hobby of mine :) but I have finally gotten more stuff finished and will be taking about 20 pieces to school to try to sell. I have done a few "firsts" for me and have been frustrated with a few of them but have learned a lot along the way. Below are the latest creations! Hope you enjoy. Remember, leave a comment or shoot me an email if you are interested in any of it! milliehsmith@yahoo.com

4x6 Plank Frame...$20.

Frame with wire mesh to hold
cards or notes. $25.

Antique window with 2 original pieces of glass, wire
mesh and a chalkboard. Also has original hardware : latch and handle. $50

8x10 Rustic Plank Frame I made for a friend at work. Can be recreated for $30.

Antique Window. Holds 3 pieces of glass, two pieces of cork and one chalk board. $50

4x6 Plan
k Frame...$20

Shutter with mirror and antique knobs. This is my favorite shutter I have done. It is also the shutter that has taken the most work from me. I had to remove some of the slats and rebuild the upper part to support the mirror. $65

This is an antique
cabinet door. The top portion has cork, the middle has bead board with key hooks, and the bottom is a chalkboard. It is $65.

These are 5x7 Rustic Plank Frames that I
made with an old piece of barn wood for a friend of mine at work. I really appreciated her trusting me with something so sentimental and I think they turned out well.

This is another 8x10 Rustic Plank Frame. It is $30.

Spring Break

I have been a busy girl on my week off. I have made several things and have had a pretty good time with it. The more I work on these things, the more I learn. The best part about working with "old stuff" is that mistakes don't ruin a project. That is a good thing for me!!! Another good thing is that everything that I do is unique. No piece of wood or antique knob will ever be the same. I love that. I am
trying to get more creative with what I actually repurpose and how I use things. I hope you like what I have done. Again, if you are interested in purchasing anything, comment or email me at milliehsmith@yahoo.com. If it is sold, most likely I can make something similar. If they colors don't work, most likely I can make something similar with the color of your choosing!

SOLD!!! Plank frames hold 4x6 pictures. Can be made and painted to match any decor. A single frame is priced at $25 and it is $45 for two.

This is my latest shutter I repurposed. I put a mirror in the top half and added antique knobs in the middle. It could be used in a foyer to hang jackets on or in a bathroom to hang towels. It is priced at $75.
